GoKawiilEssay Argues John Cale Deserves More Credit Than Lou Reed in Velvet Underground Legacy
Writer Daniel Dylan Wray publishes an essay contending that John Cale is overlooked in music history compared to his Velvet Underground bandmate Lou Reed, citing anecdotes from musicians like Richard H Kirk and Mark E Smith who both favored Reed over Cale. The piece also references John Doran's earlier series entry suggesting the band peaked after Cale's departure, and author David Keenan's public devotion to Reed as evidence of a broader cultural bias.
