GoKawiilApple restores iChat audio and video calling on Leopard via hosts file tweak
A user has enabled iChat's audio and video features on older Mac systems running Leopard by editing the /etc/hosts file to include a specific IP address for configuration.apple.com. This workaround allows iChat to reconnect with its servers, assuming the router supports port-preserving NAT. The process revives a classic Apple communication tool that was popular in the early 2000s, especially with the iSight webcam and iChat AV.
