Warp CEO Zach Lloyd disclosed that a third-party vendor in Warp's infrastructure was breached, exposing AI agent decision logs and user telemetry data. Lloyd estimates roughly 1% of Warp's over 800,000 users may be affected, and the company says it detected and mitigated the intrusion within hours of discovery on Friday. Warp has engaged CrowdStrike, notified law enforcement and affected users, and contacted the vendor, though it has not confirmed whether source code, prompts or credentials were exposed.

BeyondTrust has issued a patch for CVE-2026-102764, an authentication bypass flaw in its Remote Support software that attackers exploited since late August to run unauthorized file operations on unpatched appliances. SaaS customers were automatically patched on October 8, while self-hosted users must update manually. Mandiant and GTIG attribute the attacks to a suspected China-nexus group called Armory Castle (also tracked as Warp Panda by CrowdStrike), which used the bug to gain root access, deploy web shells and tunneling malware, and move laterally across victim networks.

Physicist NÃckolas de Aguiar Alves of the Federal University of ABC revisited the 'Picard Maneuver' from Star Trek: The Next Generation's episode 'The Battle,' in which Captain Picard jumps to warp speed and stops abruptly to create a visual double image that confuses an enemy ship. Working through the relativistic math, he found the tactic holds up better than the show's writers likely realized, tying it to real physics involving objects moving faster than a medium's speed of light.
