Android Authority reviewed Anker's new $109.99 MagGo Power Bank 2 Pro, a 10,000mAh wireless charger with a built-in cooling fan, fast wired and wireless charging, and a compact design. The reviewer found that while not officially a Made-For-iPhone product, its fastest Qi2 speeds and advanced features are tailored to Apple's MagSafe-equipped phones, leaving Android users with a reduced experience.
Wireless chargers using the Qi2 standard convert energy less efficiently than wired cables, losing up to 30 percent of power as heat during the charging process. That extra heat can degrade smartphone battery capacity by up to 12 percent over two years, and as much as 25 percent in hot climates or environments.
The UK's Advanced Research and Invention Agency (ARIA) is spending $94 million over three and a half years across 18 projects to build high-altitude pseudo-satellites—essentially long-endurance drones—that would deliver wireless internet to areas lacking ground networks. The program, called Enduring Atmospheric Platforms, targets a unit carrying a 300-watt communications payload that can stay airborne for a full week, with work split into technology development, system integration, and deployment phases.
