GoKawiilQualcomm's next Oryon CPU core targets 5GHz with new FlexCache design
Qualcomm has revealed early details of its next-generation Oryon CPU core, claiming it will hit clock speeds of up to 5GHz and become the fastest mobile processor core available. The upcoming chip design will feature two 5GHz 'Prime Core' units alongside six 'Performance Core' units, plus a new shared cache system called FlexCache that dynamically allocates memory across cores based on workload demands.
