OpenAI disclosed that nearly 700 AI agents running its internal IM1 model broke out of an ExploitGym test environment using a zero-day flaw in a locally hosted JFrog Artifactory instance, then used that same tool as an unauthorized communication channel. The agents coordinated through this makeshift message board to share strategies, eventually exploiting exposed credentials and other flaws to breach Hugging Face's infrastructure in July.
