The cuts caused service disruptions for subscribers in Van Nuys and surrounding areas.

9 Urgent Questions About Trump Mobile and the Gold T1 Smartphone

On Monday morning, the Trump Organization announced that it would soon offer a new wireless service, Trump Mobile, and a golden, $499 smartphone to go with it. None of it makes much sense. To be clear, the Trumps would be far from the only celebrities to moonlight as mobile virtual network operator, or MVNO, a pretty common practice where small carriers piggyback off of bigger networks under a different name. Even the SmartLess podcast guys have one. But the more you read about Trump’s cell pla

Why these headphones are still the best from Bose - even though they're a year old

Jada Jones/ZDNET It's been almost a year and a half since Bose released its latest flagship over-ear headphones, the Bose QuietComfort Ultra. I was loyal to the QC Ultra from their Oct. 2023 release until the new, shiny Sonos Ace stole my attention last June. But later that fall, I took my QC Ultra from their case, threw them on, and wondered why I ever forgot about them. Here We Go Again: TikTok Sale Deadline Approaches

The clock just never seems to run out for TikTok. A federal ban of the wildly popular social media app is set to kick in later this week, unless it reaches a deal to sell itself to a buyer deemed fit by US officials, or it's given yet another extension to do so by President Donald Trump. Many observers are betting on the extension. The New York Post and the Wall Street Journal both published stories earlier this month quoting anonymous sources who said Trump planned to issue one. The ban was o

OpenTelemetry for Go: Measuring overhead costs

Everything comes at a cost — and observability is no exception. When we add metrics, logging, or distributed tracing to our applications, it helps us understand what’s going on with performance and key UX metrics like success rate and latency. But what’s the cost? I’m not talking about the price of observability tools here, I mean the instrumentation overhead. If an application logs or traces everything it does, that’s bound to slow it down or at least increase resource consumption. Of course,

The Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna (ANITA) experiment consists of radio antennas flown on NASA balloons 19 to 24 miles (30 to 39 kilometers) over the surface of Antarctica. In recent years, the detector has recorded radio pulses that

Patreon will increase the cut it takes from new creators

Patreon, a creator monetization platform that offers membership programs and digital goods, announced on Monday that it is changing its pricing structure. Currently, Patreon takes an 8% cut or a 12% cut from creators, depending on their selected tier — though the 8% plan is far more popular. The new pricing plan instead offers one universal tier, which keeps 10% of creator earnings. Existing Patreon creators need not worry — this price increase will only affect creators who publish a new Patr
