iOS 26 has a new full-screen UI when you take a screenshot on your iPhone, here’s how to change it back

The new iOS 26 software update for iPhone introduces a new full-screen preview experience when taking a screenshot. This includes some new visual lookup functionality, but it also can be a bit annoying if you just want to capture something for later and get on with what are you doing. iOS 18 and earlier would simply show a small unobtrusive thumbnail of the screenshot in the corner of the screen. Thankfully, this behavior is still possible on iOS 26 as well. Here’s how to change it back. First

Anti-Trump Protesters Take Aim at ‘Naive’ US-UK AI Deal

They banged drums. They played extremely loud music. They let off foul-smelling smoke from a can. Thousands of people gathered on Wednesday in central London to protest against Trump’s presence in the UK, accusing the UK government of kowtowing to him by hosting him for a state visit for the second time. Some of the placards read “Trump poisons democracy’s blood,” “Trump’s a wanker,” and “Tiny dicktator.” On one banner, surrounding a depiction of the US president as an infant wearing a diaper,

The Digital Version of ‘Twilight Imperium’ Will Save You *So* Much Clean Up Time

Twilight Imperium has had a rep for endurance almost since it was first introduced. A dense tabletop experience of spacebound strategy, it’s become the face of marathon-length board gaming as players spend hours after hours dictating their space operatic maneuvers through the medium of many, many, many little tokens and cards being shuffled and passed around the board. So, good news for people who’ve always been interested but daunted by those occasionally tall tales of just what an effort it ev

Democrats are investigating Trump crypto advisor David Sacks over a possible SGE violation

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Representative Melanie Stansbury (D-N.M.) are leading a group of congressional Democrats in investigating White House Special Advisor David Sacks for possibly serving in his position for longer than he's allowed. Sacks, a former PayPal executive and venture capitalist at Craft Ventures, was originally picked by President Donald Trump to be the "White House A.I. & Crypto Czar" in 2024. "Any effort to stay beyond the time limits imposed on you as a Special Gove

Sen. Warren presses Trump AI and crypto czar Sacks on whether he's overstayed his job

U.S. President Donald Trump sits next to Crypto czar David Sacks at the White House Crypto Summit at the White House in Washington, D.C., U.S., March 7, 2025. What was meant to be a short-term assignment for venture capitalist David Sacks in President Donald Trump's White House appears to have stretched into something much bigger, according to leading Democratic lawmakers. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Rep. Melanie Stansbury, D-N.M., have teamed up with a number of other progressive poli

Trump admin says Social Security database wasn’t “leaked, hacked, or shared”

The Trump administration yesterday issued a lengthier denial of a whistleblower's allegation that DOGE officials at the Social Security Administration (SSA) copied the agency's database to an insecure cloud system. The allegation centers on the Numerical Identification System (NUMIDENT) database containing Americans' personally identifiable information. The cloud location described by the whistleblower report "is actually a secured server in the agency's cloud infrastructure which historically

From Qubits to Qubucks: Quantum Digital Currency

Quantum computing is often discussed in terms of its potential to revolutionize scientific discovery and to challenge cryptographic paradigms [1], but it could also change our relationship with money. By using quantum states, quantum currency could solve the double-spending problem and address throughput issues associated with distributed ledgers (blockchain), paving the way for the digital cash of the future. Digital Banking vs. Digital Currency To understand quantum currency, we should first

You can't test if quantum uses complex numbers

In 2021, Renou et al published the paper “Quantum theory based on real numbers can be experimentally falsified” in Nature. It caused a decent sized splash at the time. A quick search revealed articles in Quanta and Scientific American and APS News, as well as a talk at QIP 2022. In this post, I’m going to explain why the title of the paper is wrong. The Goal Before we get going, I need to warn you away from a common misunderstanding of Renou et al’s claim. Renou et al are NOT claiming that it

With Lumo, Proton thinks it can carve a place at the AI table

Proton released Lumo — its privacy-focused chatbot built on open-source models — in mid-July, and, following an update in August that addressed some early issues, I find myself using it more often than ChatGPT or Claude. In a world where internet companies have done so much damage to our society, I'm trying to find more ethical tools. But when the competition offers flashier features in exchange for the low price of user data, does Proton seriously think it can compete? If Eamonn Maguire, Proto

Trump Mobile’s earliest actual phones are neither made in America, nor cheap

TL;DR Trump Mobile is now selling refurbished iPhones and Samsung Galaxy S series devices. The prices of these devices appear to be marked up compared to the market value of refurbished phones. You’re better off buying these devices directly from Apple or renowned sellers like Amazon, even if you want to use Trump Mobile’s service. Trump Mobile’s “Proudly American” T1 Phone is far from being available to American consumers. The carrier, backed by the Trump Organization, has been experimenting

I got the highest score on ARC-AGI again swapping Python for English

I think ARC-AGI is still the most important benchmark we have today. It’s surprising that LLMs can win the math olympiad but struggle with simple puzzles that humans can solve easily. This highlights a core limitation of current LLMs: they struggle to reason about things they weren't trained on. They struggle to generalize. But they are getting better, fast. Last December, I got first place on ARC-AGI v1 with a score of 53.6%. A lot has changed since then. Thinking models had just come out and

Unstoppable Martial Arts Robot Can Take a Direct Dropkick Without Falling Down

And It Gets Up Again "OK, should we start worrying?" A new viral video shows a kickboxing humanoid robot shrugging off a flying dropkick from a human being. "OK, should we start worrying?" one user asked on the r/singularity subreddit in response to the video. "It looks like it doesn't like falling," another user added. The research behind the stunt was conducted by scientists at the Active Intelligent Systems (ACT) Lab at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in Shenz

Best Robot Vacuums We've Tested (September 2025)

Each robot vacuum we consider for recommendation gets put through its paces in our test lab in Louisville, Kentucky. In addition to test floors where we run our controlled pickup tests, we monitor each robot vacuum in a special test room filled with mock furniture to gauge how well it navigates around common obstacles. Past that, we check each robot vacuum's ability to gobble up pet hair without getting clogged or leaving loose strands behind, we consider mopping capabilities, and we check to se

Earlier this year, the app experienced a temporary outage in the U.S. that left millions of users in suspense before it was quickly restored. Don't Miss This Claustrophobic Sci-Fi Nightmare Streaming Free on Tubi

There's something about sci-fi horror that hits all the buttons for me. Derelict spaceships the size of cities, creatures engineered by science or nature to be perfect predators and the claustrophobia of space all manage to get me excited every time. The Alien franchise made me fall in love with this sub-genre, along with gems like Dark City and Event Horizon. One of my lesser-known favorites is Pandorum. Released in 2009, it's a claustrophobic trip into space where a mechanic wakes up on a col

The ad fraud campaign was discovered by HUMAN's Satori Threat Intelligence team, which reported that the apps were downloaded over 38 million times and employed obfuscation and steganography to conceal the malicious behavior from Google and security tools. The campaign was worldwide, with users installing the apps from 228 co
