Entrepreneur Op-Ed: Website Redesigns Force Companies to Confront Deferred Business Decisions

An Entrepreneur contributor argues that website redesigns typically start with complaints about outdated design or poor conversion, but the harder work is confronting unresolved business choices—like which audiences, services, or divisions actually deserve priority. Rimini Street's '2026 IT Virtualization Survey,' conducted with Unisphere Research across 300 organizations, found that 90% of VMware users are looking at alternative virtualization options because of rising licensing costs, and 54% cited Broadcom's decision to end support for perpetual license holders. The survey also found 73% of respondents rank cost savings as a top priority, while many cite operational complexity, multi-vendor management, security exposure, and skills gaps as barriers to switching.

Surge protectors' MOV components wear out silently over time

Most household surge protectors rely on metal-oxide varistors (MOVs) to absorb excess voltage, but these components degrade with each surge and even with normal use over time. A worn-out surge protector often looks and functions identically to a new one, continuing to power devices even after its protective capability has failed. Some models are designed to cut power to outlets once the MOV protection is no longer functioning, but many are not.

Google's PageBreak AI agent uncovers over 500 XSS flaws in its own web apps

Google's Product Security team disclosed in a blog post that its internal AI agent, PageBreak, has found more than 500 cross-site scripting vulnerabilities across the company's web applications. The tool, piloted last November and made a full product in January, combines AI analysis with validation to flag exploitable bugs, including a cache poisoning issue on apis.google.com, an XSS flaw on admin.google.com, and insecure handshakes in browser extensions, all of which have reportedly been fixed.
