Reddit is back online after outage

If you were having trouble viewing Reddit today, you weren't alone. Downdetector showed a spike in outages and problems at the site. Reddit acknowledged the problem on Wednesday. At 12:38PM ET, it said the situation had been resolved. Reddit told Engadget that an update was the culprit. "An update we made caused some instability," a company spokesperson said. "We reverted and are seeing Reddit ramp back up." If you tried to visit Reddit this morning, you likely saw a message reading, "Server e

Mac graphics settings for Cyberpunk 2077 aim for console-like simplicity

CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is coming to the Mac this week, a few months after the port was announced as part of Apple’s M4 MacBook Pro introduction last fall. The good news for Mac gamers is that Cyberpunk will run on just about anything with Apple Silicon in it, going all the way back to the original M1 (though owners of the last few fading Intel Macs won’t be able to play it at all). One hard-and-fast requirement for playability is at least 16GB of unified RAM. The 8GB

Our 11 Favorite Air Quality Monitors We’ve Tried (2025)

In the past five years, I’ve tested dozens of indoor air-quality monitors but have relied on my iPhone’s Weather app to check outdoor air quality. On questionable days that might include haze or the smell of wildfire, I’ll check the government’s free AirNow website, where I’ll plug in my zip code and see its easy-to-read air quality meter. With the increasing wildfire activity from coast to coast, however, I realized it was time to test an outdoor air-quality monitor. The Zen is larger than the

Here’s why you can’t rate that system app in the Google Play Store

Damien Wilde / Android Authority TL;DR Earlier this year, Google started working to implement minimalistic app listings for system services in the Play Store. These listings do not include a review section nor allow users to rate the apps. Users are now starting to see this new format for system services roll out widely. Should all app listings be created the same? At first glance, it might make sense to expect all app listings in the Play Store to have the same stuff: description, screensho

BBC Insists Its Disney Partnership Remains Strong in Wake of ‘Doctor Who’ Doubts

Ever since the latest season of Doctor Who came to a messy end a few months ago, the biggest question on audiences’ minds (among the many questions raised by that finale) is when, or if, we might expect to see the show return to our screens. The further we’ve moved from the season without news other than that there is no news about the BBC renewing its funding and distribution deal with Disney for the series, the more doubts have grown.
