is transportation editor with 10+ years of experience who covers EVs, public transportation, and aviation. His work has appeared in The New York Daily News and City & State. Elon Musk could become the world’s first trillionaire if Tesla shareholders approve a new pay package that was just put forward by the company’s board. Musk would need to meet certain milestones in order to receive that eye-popping compensation, such as producing 1 million robotaxis and 1 million humanoid robots, as well a

Sam Altman Says He's Suddenly Worried Dead Internet Theory Is Coming True

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, creator of the most popular AI chatbot on Earth, says he's starting to worry that "dead internet theory" is coming true. "I never took the dead internet theory that seriously," Altman tweeted in his typical all-lowercase style, "but it seems like there are really a lot of LLM-run twitter accounts now." (LLM meaning large language model, the tech which powers AI chatbots.) He was resoundingly mocked. "You're absolutely right! This observation isn't just smart — it shows

Love the Pixel 10? You can now wear it on your sleeve, almost literally

Google TL;DR Google has launched new Pixel 10-themed merchandise. The T-Shirt, ceramic mug, and a roll of washi tape, all come with a coded message. Besides online, Google will also sell these items in its physical stores across the US. Galaxy S26 Edge leaked renders point to slim body, not-so-slim camera bump

TL;DR New CAD renders of the Galaxy S26 Edge show a ridiculously large camera island, seemingly inspired by the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro. The Galaxy S26 Edge could be thinner than its predecessor at its thinnest point, but this three-tiered camera bump could make it thicker overall. Previous leaks suggest the entire Galaxy S26 lineup could feature Qi2 magnets for wireless charging. Samsung’s Galaxy S26 series isn’t due until early next year, but just yesterday, we got a good look at dummy units

Nepal blocks most social media sites for failing to register with the government

The government of Nepal is blocking commonly used social platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, WeChat, Reddit and YouTube due to noncompliance with a new law requiring them to register with the government, The Associated Press reported. Five platforms including TikTok and Viber that did register in the country were exempted from the ban. Social media companies were asked to provide a local contact, grievance handler and person responsible for self-regulation to avoid a shutdown and many a

Critical SAP S/4HANA vulnerability now exploited in attacks

A critical SAP S/4HANA code injection vulnerability is being leveraged in attacks in the wild to breach exposed servers, researchers warn. The flaw, tracked as CVE-2025-42957, is an ABAP code injection problem in an RFC-exposed function module of SAP S/4HANA, allowing low-privileged authentication users to inject arbitrary code, bypass authorization, and fully take over SAP. The vendor fixed the vulnerability on August 11, 2025, rating it critical (CVSS score: 9.9). However, several systems h

I compared two of the best soundbars on the market, and Sonos has some serious competition

Jada Jones/ZDNET Follow ZDNET: Add us as a preferred source on Google. If you have $1,000 to spend on a soundbar, there are compelling options to choose from. Since its late 2024 release, the Sonos Arc Ultra has been at the top of the heap in this price range, but there are new competitors that give Sonos a run for its money. The Marshall Heston 120, for example, offers a unique design, cool features, and comes at the exact same price as the Sonos Arc Ultra. Also: 5 ways to instantly boost yo

1Password vs. NordPass: I tested both password managers, and here's the best pick

1Password and NordVPN/ZDNET A password manager is an essential tool for generating, securely storing, and accessing credentials and other sensitive personal data across your devices, whether you need to log into your bank or fill out your information during online checkout. The best password management tools on the market do this seamlessly, but they have a range of features to meet varying user needs at different price points. In our head-to-head comparison of two of our favorite password man

Heap-based buffer overflow in Kernel Streaming

Reading Time: 4 minutes From time to time, while digging through internals during our research, we stumble upon quirks or vulnerabilities that, although not immediately useful for operations or exploitation, are still noteworthy. Rather than letting these findings fade away, we decided to responsibly disclose them to the vendor. One such case is CVE-2025-53149, a heap-based buffer overflow in the Kernel Streaming WOW Thunk Service Driver, which Microsoft patched on August 12, 2025. The vulnera

I Played the Lenovo Legion Go 2 Gaming Handheld. It's a Big Upgrade With a Bigger Price

It's been two years since Lenovo released the Legion Go gaming handheld. It was big and heavy, sure, but it also had poor battery life, really loud fans and was saddled with Windows 11. To be fair, it was one of the first of the recent crop of Windows gaming handhelds, and the competition hasn't exactly been exceedingly better. We may be turning a corner, though, with the Legion Go S earlier this year, the upcoming Asus ROG Xbox Ally and now, the Legion Go 2. Expected to arrive in October, with

7 Best Password Managers (2025), Tested and Reviewed

Even the best password managers are the vegetables of the internet. We know they’re good for us, but most of us are happier snacking on the password equivalent of junk food. For nearly a decade, that’s been “123456” and “password”—the two most commonly used passwords on the web. The problem is, most of us don’t know what makes a good password and aren’t able to remember hundreds of them anyway. The safest (if craziest) way to store your passwords is to memorize them all. (Make sure they are lon

I tested the Pixel 10’s charging with Google’s own 67W brick, and it’s still disappointingly slow

Robert Triggs / Android Authority Google’s Pixel series has, to be blunt, always been pretty slow to charge. Even the Pixel 9 Pro XL’s boost to 37W (about 35W effective) still left the phone taking a sluggish 77 minutes to reach full, while the regular 26W capabilities of the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro left last year’s users waiting about 85 minutes. Nothing has changed for the better with the new Pixel 10 series. In fact, after testing Google’s latest flagships with the company’s new 67W USB-C c

iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max back design mystery may be solved ahead of Apple event

Earlier this week, we flagged that despite knowing an awful lot about the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, there was still a major design mystery going into Apple’s “Awe dropping” event. Now new reporting points to a more dramatic splash in that category. There have been two competing rumors around the design of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max backs. Both agree that the camera mound will expand into a full-width camera bar across the top. Where things diverge is the rest of the back: an all-glass cont

Valerion launches new premium projector with anti-rainbow effect technology

After a successful Kickstarter campaign, Valerion is formally announcing its new premium projector, the VisionMaster Max, at IFA 2025. The boxy little projector offers improved contrast and brightness, but the feature that should be most interesting to home theater aficionados is how it tries to address the "rainbow effect" common in some cheaper projectors. Cheaper DLP projectors sometimes display stuttery strobes of color when the projector's color wheel is forced to quickly shift between col

Kirby Air Riders is a cute, chaotic racing game

Kirby is a uniquely wholesome Nintendo character, yet his games often have a quirky mean streak to them. They're all about letting players absorb enemies and take on some wild powers to tear through vibrant stages with reckless abandon. That's especially true with Kirby Air Riders, the long-awaited sequel to the GameCube classic racing game, Kirby Air Ride. Much like the original, it's a fast-paced racing game starring Kirby and friends as they race through visually striking locales – it also ha

Lava RGB

Although the power module includes a Saturn-style DIN connector, I don’t own a compatible cable, and prefer to use VGA cables. So for my install, I decided to add a SNES multiout port. Compared to the NESRGB, Lava RGB 2.0 is definitely a worthy contender. The palette switching OSD, and ability to easily update firmware, are improvements, and I wonder if future firmware updates might add more OSD-based options. However, one thing Lava RGB does not do is process and output audio like the NESRGB.

I Ditched Docker for Podman (and You Should Too)

Beginnings I'm old enough to remember when Vagrant looked like a promised land where every development environment would look the same. Differences between language versions, as well as some unusual OS version differences, resulted in a few days of unproductive debugging of your development environment. I've had similar excitement when I started my first Docker Swarm (who uses that these days?!) - it felt revolutionary. Docker wasn't just a tool - it fundamentally changed how we thought about a

AI Startups and the Case of the Allegedly Missing Trade Secrets

A second lawsuit filed by an artificial intelligence company alleging a former employee stole trade secrets has been filed in California, just days after Elon Musk’s xAI alleged it had recently experienced corporate espionage. In this case, Scale AI, a leading AI data-labeling firm, sued competitor Mercor Inc. in federal court Wednesday, accusing the startup and a former employee of misappropriating trade secrets to win new business. Scale is valued at approximately $29 billion following a mas

The 29 Best Energy Drinks, Tested and Reviewed (2025)

Buying energy drinks in public is embarrassing. Every time I see someone scanning the cooler for their favorite flavor of Monster or Ghost, I guess which accompanying vape flavor they've picked out, and I know others are making the same assumption about me when I’m scoring a can of Celsius to beat back a hangover or get lifted before a 10-hour bartending shift. The good news is that it’s easier than ever to purchase your favorite cans from Amazon, and the great news is that you don’t need to pu
