Image by Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images Developments Earlier this month, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) secretary and noted anti-vaccine crackpot Robert Kennedy Jr. admitted that thousands of laid-off workers had to be reinstated due to "mistakes" made by Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency. Musk's henchmen's cuts to the agency's many health programs are likely to be devastating. But during his first TV interview as HHS secretary with CBS News, Kennedy appeared baffli

Now well into his second term, it's no secret that Donald Trump wields his emergency powers like Elon Musk uses slurs. That is to say, he does it a lot. So far, Trump's declared national emergencies to classify drug smugglers as terrorists, the migrant crisis as an invasion, and the International Criminal Court's arrest warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu as infringing "upon the sovereignty of the United States" — not to mention skirting around some annoying procedures which would have delayed his n

Dhruv Bhutani / Android Authority We use and review plenty of phones each year at Android Authority, from cheap phones to flagship devices. But which phones do we actually use after the reviews are published? We’ve regularly polled the Android Authority team over the years to find out which phones are actually used as primary devices or daily drivers, with our last survey taking place last year. So with that in mind, we thought it was time to ask the team about their phones once again. The re

Google’s new Pixel 9a joins the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE and Apple iPhone 16e as great middle-of-the-market picks for the budget-conscious. In fact, the 9a is the cheapest of the three at just $499 rather than $659 and $599, respectively, yet it continues to sport a dual camera configuration and flagship-tier Tensor G4 processor. Rita El Khoury / Android Authority When Google introduced Health Connect to the Android platform with Android 14, I thought it was a genius way to bridge the gap between multiple fitness and health platforms. I’ve had a Fitbit since the original Fitbit One in 2012, so most of my data lives on the platform, but Fitbit doesn’t track everything. My hikes are in AllTrails, my blood pressure is in Google Fit, and I wear an Oura Ring 4 that gives me more detailed sleep and wellness tracking than my c

For well over 10 years now, I have owned and maintained a Plex server. I first got started with Plex when I realized that to consume most of the media content I wanted meant signing up for 10 different streaming services — and even then, I still wouldn’t have access to everything. That’s a game I refuse to play, so making my own server with only the things I want and nothing else was the most obvious solution. Since then, Plex has become a massive part of my life. In fact, I recently wrote an a

Apple and its customers can breathe a sigh of relief today after the White House carved tariff exemptions for smartphones, laptops, and more. The iPhone maker was facing a 145% fee on products imported into the United States from China. This caused weeks of speculation that the iPhone and other electronics could be subject to price hikes to cover the cost. Bloomberg reported on the tariff exemption policy development: The exclusions, published late Friday by US Customs and Border Protection, n

A new class of supply chain attacks named 'slopsquatting' has emerged from the increased use of generative AI tools for coding and the model's tendency to "hallucinate" non-existent package names. The term slopsquatting was coined by security researcher Seth Larson as a spin on typosquatting, an attack method that tricks developers into installing malicious packages by using names that closely resemble popular libraries. Unlike typosquatting, slopsquatting doesn't rely on misspellings. Instead
