Apple has updated Find My so users can share their iPhone location for a precise custom duration, rather than only choosing an hour, a day, or indefinitely. Users can now set sharing by days (up to 30), hours, or minutes, down to a minimum of 15 minutes, or pick an exact end date and time. Once the chosen period ends, the recipient automatically loses access to the shared location.
Apple's Find My network is a separate, crowdsourced Bluetooth feature from the standard Find My app, and it must be manually enabled to locate an iPhone that is offline, in Power Reserve mode, or powered down. Users can verify and adjust these settings under Settings > [Name] > Find My, and should also enable Send Last Location, Location Services, and Bluetooth to ensure tracking works. Disabling Control Center access from the lock screen can also stop thieves from quickly enabling airplane mode to cut a stolen phone off from the network.
Belkin has unveiled its own line of item trackers called SureFind, compatible with both Apple's Find My and Google's Find Hub networks. Unlike AirTags or Google's Pixel Tag, these trackers come with built-in attachment mechanisms like key rings, cables, or card designs, eliminating the need for separate accessories.
Pebblebee has released LÔC8, a slim, tube-shaped tracker built to slide inside bike handlebars, golf club shafts, or similar hollow objects rather than sit exposed like typical trackers. It works with both Android's Find Hub and Apple's Find My networks, uses a replaceable (though hard-to-source) ER10250 battery, and is rated for roughly three years of use.
Apple's Find My iPhone can be turned off manually via Settings, but only after disabling Stolen Device Protection, a security feature enabled by default since iOS 26.4. Users are advised to do this at home to avoid built-in delays meant to deter thieves who know a device's passcode. Location sharing with specific contacts can also be stopped individually through the Find My app without disabling the entire feature.
