In Warner Bros. Discovery’s latest move seemingly targeting the famed studio’s cinema history, one of the original homes of the Looney Tunes is set to be demolished. This, coming right off the new regime’s scrubbing of the cartoons off the platform, is certainly not a good look. It’s also bummer news in the aftermath of the studio’s mishandling of Coyote vs. Acme, which is currently still shelved but may find new life with Ketchup Entertainment, which recently distributed Warner Bros. There’s nothing Hollywood loves more than a big comeback—and Coyote vs. Acme may be getting its second chance. The live-action/animation hybrid starring John Cena and the Looney Tunes was shelved by Warner Bros. in late 2023, to the disappointment of its creative team as well as the handful of insiders who’d gotten a chance to see it. For now, newer Looney Tunes series and spin-offs remain, like New Looney Tunes and Baby Looney Tunes, but the decision still feels odd because Warner Bros. Discovery just released The Day The Earth B

That’s all, folks–as parent company Warner Bros.’ valuation of animation continues to be in rapid descent, the company has decided that the same weekend the Looney Tunes light up the big screen in The Day the Earth Blew Up would be the perfect time to remove every original Looney Tunes short from its streamer, Max. Deadline reports that the removal–which impacts almost 40 years’ worth of animated shorts from the 1930s all the way up to the late ’60s–is part of an ongoing reprioritization on Max
