Pluribus quietly took Apple TV by storm, and now it's being labeled as the most-watched program on the platform. Step aside, Severance -- there's a new sci-fi hit in town.
The fact that Pluribus is so talked about isn't really surprising when you consider that it's from Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. This isn't a series about blue meth, the Mexican cartel or a hat-wearing villain named Heisenberg. Pluribus is a different beast altogether.
Better Call Saul alum Rhea Seehorn leads the sci-fi drama, which earned a spot on our list of the best sci-fi shows on Apple TV. She plays a fantasy romance novelist named Carol who, as luck would have it, is one of a dozen survivors of a global pandemic that has made everyone annoyingly happy. What sort of alien invasion is this? Does she have what it takes to save the world, or will she succumb to the hive mind?
These are just two of the big questions the show has prompted.
