GoKawiilEven though Apple skipped macOS 26.5 public beta 2 after releasing the developer beta last week, Apple is now rolling out macOS 26.5 developer beta 3. Here’s what’s new so far.
Apple released macOS 26.5 beta 2 last Monday and, like beta 1, it didn’t include many relevant changes.
In fact, across all of Apple’s operating systems, the most significant change in the most recent beta releases was a new popup on Apple Maps on iOS, which lays the groundwork for the upcoming rollout of ads on the platform.
That is in contrast with macOS 26.4, which introduced features such as the Charge Limit, and brought back the compact tab view in Safari.
That said, macOS 26.5 public beta 3 is now available with build version 25F5058e, and we are already digging through the system to report any relevant findings.
How to install the new beta
Here’s how to install the macOS Tahoe 26.5 developer beta 3:
Backup your Mac Open System Settings Go to General ⇾ Software Update Click the ‘i’ icon next to Beta Updates From the dropdown menu in the top-right, select the macOS Developer Tahoe Beta Hit ‘Done’
