Ted Danson to play Elizabeth Banks’s father
As reported by Deadline, legendary actor Ted Danson has joined Elizabeth Banks’s untitled half-hour comedy series, which is set to start filming this year in Los Angeles.
The show, which also stars Rob Delaney (Bad Monkey, Deadpool & Wolverine), was created by Liz Heldens (The Dropout) and Matt Ward (The Big Leap), and will tell the story of Heidi (Banks), a recently-divorced woman who “sets out to secure a lively second act for herself and her kids”.

According to the plot summary, “when she stumbles into coordinating her father’s retirement community sex dates, Heidi is forced into an unlikely alliance with his girlfriend’s perpetually single son.”
According to Deadline, Danson will play Heidi’s father, which is an interesting coincidence, considering his character on ‘A Man on the Inside‘.
Given that the show is still in the early days of production, it will very likely debut in 2027. Hopefully, Apple or 20th Television will share its official title sooner rather than later.
