GoKawiilIt’s long been rumored that the iPhone 18 Pro Max battery capacity would be the largest ever seen in an iPhone, with a report back in February suggesting that it could get close to 5200mAh.
The same leaker has now reported on the iPhone 18 Pro capacity and is suggesting that we will see only very modest gains over last year’s model …
Here’s what Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station had to say about the iPhone 18 Pro Max back in February:
Judging from supply chain information, the battery capacity of the iPhone 18 Pro Max Chinese version will reach 5000mAh, and the maximum capacity of the international version is 5100-5200mAh.
They have today reported on supply chain indications for the non-Max Pro model.
iPhone 18 Pro China version of the battery capacity is 4056mAh, the U.S. version is 4288mAh.
For the US model, this compares to 3988mAh for the iPhone 17 Pro, which would be an extremely modest gain compared to last year’s jump of 19% over the iPhone 16 Pro.
Battery capacity alone doesn’t tell the full story, however. This year’s Pro models will have an A20 Pro chip built on TSMC’s latest 2nm process, which should make it notably more power efficient. If the numbers do prove accurate, we’ll need to wait for battery life tests to reveal the real world impact.
