GoKawiilInstagram adds AI chatbot assistant to Edits video app
Instagram launched an AI-powered conversational assistant inside its Edits editing app, giving creators personalized feedback based on their account metrics like views, retention, likes and shares. Edits lead Brett Westervelt said the tool analyzes performance patterns and audience trends but leaves creative decisions to the creator. Usage is capped, with higher limits available through a Meta One subscription.
GoKawiil's interpretation of the reporting above, not reported fact.
The launch suggests Meta is betting that creators want data analysis rather than automated editing, differentiating it from YouTube's upcoming conversational editing tool announced last week. Tying expanded usage to a Meta One subscription could position the assistant as a new revenue lever tied to creator tools. The rollout also signals intensifying competition among platforms to embed AI directly into content creation workflows.
- Instagram's Edits app now includes an AI assistant offering personalized, metrics-based feedback to creators.
- The tool analyzes engagement data and trends but does not perform creative editing tasks itself.
- Free usage is limited, with expanded access available via a Meta One subscription.
