GoKawiilReddit splits home feed into For You and Following tabs
Reddit is dividing its home page feed into two separate tabs: For You, which blends posts from communities you've joined with algorithmic recommendations, and Following, which shows only posts from communities you've actually joined. The change is rolling out globally over the coming weeks.
GoKawiil's interpretation of the reporting above, not reported fact.
The split mirrors feed structures already used by TikTok, X, and Threads, suggesting Reddit is aligning its interface with broader social media conventions to retain users who want more control over their feeds. Separating algorithmic discovery from a pure subscription feed could appeal to users frustrated with unwanted recommendations, while still giving Reddit room to push discovery content that drives engagement.
- Reddit's home feed now splits into For You and Following tabs.
- For You mixes joined-community posts with personalized recommendations; Following shows only joined communities.
- Rollout is global and will happen over the next few weeks.
