Apple TV+ airs the Murderbot season 1 finale tonight, but the streamer is leaving no question about the series’ future. Murderbot season 2 has just been made official.
Murderbot season 2 will delve further into acclaimed book series
Murderbot is a quirky sci-fi action comedy on Apple TV+ that, in its first season, has defied genre definitions.
At different points it feels like a gory sci-fi action thriller, at other times a comedy, and others a character drama.
This hasn’t always worked, but generally the show offers a fun, 20-some-minute escape.
Murderbot the character has been the series biggest strength, and now Apple has ensured we’ll get to see more of the android’s adventures.
Apple TV+ announced that Murderbot has been renewed for season 2.

“Chris, Paul, Alexander and the entire ‘Murderbot’ team have delivered a brilliantly original, addictive, witty and vibrant adaptation that has captured the imagination of audiences everywhere,” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV+. “We can’t wait to unveil what’s next for Murderbot and, of course, ‘Sanctuary Moon’ in season two.”
Creators Chris and Paul Weitz confirmed their involvement, saying: “we’re…delighted that we’re getting to go back to Martha Wells’ world.”
