I Saw a Live Demo of Samsung's Latest AI Appliances. I'm Not Sold the Cost Is Worth the Hype

It seems as though every company is working hard to put AI in your personal tech, but having the AI stamp doesn't always mean it's useful or worth the AI price jump. I attended Samsung's Home Studio to see its latest lineup of smart home appliances and found it to be no exception. AI isn't new for Samsung. These features existed on previous iterations of Samsung's lineup. The company, for example, showcased a range of AI-powered appliances during CES 2024 and CES 2025 where Samsung highlighted smart fridges, dishwashers, ovens, washing machines and dryers -- all integrated with AI features or LCD touchscreens, cameras, auto-open doors and other features aimed at improving your day-to-day cooking, clothes washing and cleaning.
