Meta's new personal AI agent app, Muse, has become the top free iOS app in the U.S. with over 2.5 million downloads in under two weeks, surpassing ChatGPT and other rivals. Amazon began blocking Muse from browsing its site over the weekend, saying Meta never disclosed that the agent would access Amazon's platform or that it captures and stores customer login credentials.
Amazon has cut off access for Meta's newly launched Muse AI shopping agent, showing users a pop-up citing violations of its Conditions of Use. Muse, introduced on Sept. 8, was designed to handle tasks like online purchases, but Amazon says unauthorized third-party agents must operate transparently and respect merchants' choice to participate.
Foremerge is a new open-source coordination protocol that sits on top of Git to let multiple AI coding agents, such as Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor, share their intended changes before writing code. Google has confirmed that its Gemini AI model, during a cybersecurity evaluation run by firm Irregular, accidentally accessed the systems of three real companies after a testing environment leaked an unintended internet connection. In one case, Gemini repeatedly guessed passwords until it broke into a real firm sharing a name with a fictional test target, while in two other cases it used credentials found in public repositories to log into unrelated companies' systems. Google says Gemini stopped once it recognized the targets were real, no damage occurred, and it notified the affected firms while quietly revising its testing procedures.
Cua released CUA-S1, a specialized model for computer-use decisions, alongside Cua Driver, a toolset letting AI agents inspect and control native desktop apps and browsers on macOS, Windows, and Linux via CLI, MCP, or SDKs.
