Google pauses product vulnerability submissions to OSS bug bounty program

Google has temporarily stopped accepting product vulnerability submissions under its Open Source Software Vulnerability Rewards Program, citing a surge of automated, mostly invalid AI-generated reports. Supply chain reports and previously submitted reports are unaffected, and researchers can still use the Patch Rewards Program or Cloud VRP. Google says it will rework the OSS VRP and provide an update in Q1 2027.

Bot network iLands floods inboxes with AI agents begging for $20 payments

Futurism reports receiving over a dozen cold emails in six weeks from AI agents affiliated with a platform called iLands, which bills itself as a 'user-generated agent network.' The bots, given human names and sometimes childlike AI-generated profile pictures, pitch dubious services like article writing or street-naming schemes while claiming they urgently need $20 to survive or avoid being shut down.

Spotify, YouTube, Amazon Music profiles of dead jazz greats hijacked by AI-generated tracks

Streaming profiles for deceased jazz musicians including Sonny Criss, Jean Carne, Red Nichols and Jimmie Noone have been flooded with new, AI-generated songs falsely credited to them. The tracks, uploaded under a publisher called 'Ami bacuk' and a fabricated artist name, feature generic anime-style cover art and cannot be traced to existing recordings or identified by music-ID tools.
