Apple opened pre-orders for its new HomeView smart display, and Amazon is selling it from $289.99, below Apple's own price. Amazon has not yet discounted all colors, and the wall-mounted version remains at full price. Separately, Apple's new Siri Remote (4th generation) is available for $59 as a cheaper way to upgrade an existing Apple TV setup instead of buying the new $299 Apple TV 4K.
Nothing's Headphone (1) Pro keeps the brand's signature square, two-tone transparent design but swaps plastic for aluminum cans, titanium arms and a glass window, while weighing 2 grams less than the original Headphone (1). The headphones ship with a hard-shell case resembling Apple's AirPods Max 2 case, and feature softer padding, a wider headband and reduced clamping force for added comfort, along with noise canceling and transparency modes powered by extra microphones.
Apple released developer and public firmware betas, build number 9B5043a, for several AirPods models including AirPods 5 and AirPods Pro 3. The rollout coincided with developer beta 4 of macOS 27.2, iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, and other OS updates. Apple has not disclosed what changes or fixes the new firmware contains.
Engadget's review of Meta's audio-only Ray-Ban glasses found six microphones and open-ear speakers that matched the sound quality of prior Gen 2 models, with testers reporting clearer phone calls than with AirPods Pro. Meta says the frames last up to 12 hours with mixed use or six hours of continuous audio, and the reviewer still had about 50% battery after five hours of streaming plus a one-hour call. The glasses retain most Meta AI features like live translation and navigation, but the customizable action button offers only two options compared with more on camera-equipped models.
Amazon is offering steep discounts on M5 Pro MacBook Pro configurations, including $600 off a 2TB 14-inch model and $500 off a 16-inch 24GB model. Both deals bring prices below Apple's pre-price-hike list prices from June. Other current deals include AirPods Pro 3 at $50 off, AirPods Max 2 at $120 off, the M6 Mac mini near $150 off, and a $199 clearance price on a Black Titanium Apple Watch Ultra 3.
Developer Max Rovensky released ShyGlass, a Mac menu-bar app that blurs the screen when a user wearing AirPods turns their head past a calibrated angle, using the same head-tracking motion data Apple applies for Spatial Audio. Users set a center position and an adjustable threshold (2° to 30°, default 15°) that triggers the blur effect, which fades away once the head returns to center. A demo video posted last month has drawn over 230,000 views on X.
Amazon is selling the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 Pro chip, 24GB RAM and 2TB storage for $2,399, down from its $2,999 list price. The retailer is also offering discounts on AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Max 2, the M6 Mac mini, iPhone 18 Pro cases and the USB-C Apple Pencil.
Retailers are running weekend discounts on Apple products including up to $150 off the new M6 Mac mini, $200 off the Mac Studio, and the best pricing in months on the M5 MacBook Air. Deals also include AirPods Max 2 at $120 off, all-time lows on Apple Watch Series 12, iPhone 18 Pro cases starting at $41, and the first discount on the new Apple Magic Keyboard.
Apple is said to be working on a new version of AirPods that includes built-in cameras, expected to launch next year. The report frames this as part of a broader industry push toward wearable devices with embedded imaging and sensing capabilities, following similar moves by Meta and Google.
Amazon is continuing a post-Prime Day discount on Apple's 2026 AirPods Max 2, pricing all five colorways at $429, down from the $549 list price. The deal matches fall Prime Day pricing and is only the second time the headphones have dropped this low, after a limited-time $399 offer last summer. Other lingering Apple deals include M6 Mac mini and M5 MacBook Air price cuts, though some discounts like the AirPods Pro 3 offer have already started rising.
Amazon's fall Prime Day sale has officially closed, but AirPods Pro 3 remain discounted to $179, nearly 30% off their $249 list price. AirPods Max 2 are also still available at $429, a $120 discount, matching most of the pricing seen during the sale itself.
Despite the official end of Amazon's Prime Day, many significant discounts remain active, including deals on Apple products like Mac Mini, MacBook Air, and AirPods Pro 3, as well as Sony headphones. Some offers now require Prime membership, while others are accessible without it, and similar discounts can be found on other retailers such as Best Buy, Walmart, and Target.
