Apple announced that more than 50 apps, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Slack and Salesforce, have been updated to take advantage of the foldable iPhone Duo's 7.6-inch display. The device launches this Friday, with sports apps like PGA Tour and MLB also tailored to use the folded, multitasking format.
Carson Oliver, newly promoted to vice president of the App Store, spoke with Polygon about Apple's gaming strategy following the launch of Indie Games Week, which spotlighted seven new and upcoming iPhone and iPad titles. He said more premium games have launched on the App Store this year than last, including a growing number of console and PC franchises moving to mobile.
Apple Arcade and developer Hipster Whale announced Crossy Road Rush, a new voxel-style arcade adventure launching exclusively on the subscription service November 5 at 4 p.m. PST. Players can collect and care for over 100 Pusheen variations while completing minigames like Snack Stack, Parfait Pop, and Batch Match, and decorating rooms for characters such as Pusheenicorn and Pancake Pusheen. Developers plan to keep expanding the game with new Pusheens, decor themes, and features after launch.
Apple Arcade launched Retro Bowl College+ on August 6, a version of New Star Games' 2023 college football spin-off. The game lets players manage one of over 250 college teams using simple swipe-based controls for passing, running and kicking, while defense is handled by the game's simulation. Off the field, players must juggle roster morale, player ratings, facility upgrades and team budgets.
Apple Arcade has released a limited-time crossover between Sneaky Sasquatch and Subway Surfers+, running through October 7, giving players four character skins, two hoverboards, and a reimagined level themed around Sasquatch Valley. Apple also released a set of Sneaky Sasquatch stickers for iMessage, and confirmed a separate birdwatching-themed update for Sneaky Sasquatch arriving September 17.
