A team of scientists has compiled a large single-cell gene-expression dataset mapping how brain cells change across aging in mice, published via a Nature-affiliated report. The dataset catalogs expression patterns across numerous cell types and brain regions, intended as a resource for the broader research community.
A multi-institution research effort combined brain tissue samples from the Mount Sinai NIH Neurobiobank, the NIMH-IRP Human Brain Collection Core, and the Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center to create a harmonized dataset spanning over 1,400 samples. The team standardized clinical measures such as neuritic plaque density (CERAD scores) and cognitive impairment ratings across the different cohorts, alongside demographic and technical variables like age, sex, ancestry and postmortem interval, to enable consistent single-cell transcriptomic analysis of brain disorders.
Huawei says it will not sell its upcoming Ascend 900-series AI accelerators internationally because it cannot yet meet domestic Chinese demand for the chips. Chairman Eric Xu said the company only ships limited volumes to a few countries with especially strong demand. The announcement came alongside a roadmap showing major performance gains for the Ascend 960, 970 and 980 NPUs through 2027.

Huawei announced at its Huawei Connect conference that it will release its next-generation Ascend 960DT AI chip in the first quarter of 2027, six months earlier than the previously planned Q3 2027 date. A New Jersey court ordered data broker Radaris to transfer control of radaris.com and more than a dozen related domains to Atlas Data Privacy Corp after the company repeatedly stonewalled a lawsuit alleging violations of Daniel's Law. The statute lets state law enforcement officials, judges and their families demand removal of their personal data from commercial brokers, with fines for noncompliance. Radaris, run by brothers Igor and Dmitry Lubarsky, had previously used a fictitious CEO and denied ownership claims made by investigative reporting.
A newly published online atlas organizes 3,915 known periodic solutions to the three-body problem into a navigable map, grouping similar orbits into families that appear as clustered 'islands.' Each orbit has its own dedicated page where users can watch it animate through one full period, nudge it slightly off its original path, and compare or rank it against other orbits.

Google DeepMind released AlphaGenome Atlas, a genome-wide dataset predicting the functional consequences of nearly every possible single-letter DNA change. Academic partners, including researchers from the Broad Institute working with the GREGoR Consortium, used the tool's AVI scoring system to identify a previously overlooked variant in the DNM1 gene linked to epileptic encephalopathy, showing it creates a faulty splice site that abnormally extends the resulting protein. The prediction was later confirmed through lab experiments.
Google DeepMind has launched AlphaGenome Atlas, a database that predicts the molecular effects of every one of the roughly nine billion possible single-letter changes across the human genome. The tool is accessible via a web portal, the Antigravity development platform, and the AlphaGenome interface, and comes bundled with a new Variant Impact Score to help researchers prioritize which mutations are most likely to matter.
The authors of the mouse brain stereotaxic atlas study published a correction fixing several errors: a mislabeled gene name in a figure (corrected to 'Emx1-Cre'), an inaccurate Dice score and sample size in Extended Data Fig. 4, and an updated voxel resolution value in the methods section describing whole-head dataset acquisition. The HTML and PDF versions of the paper have been updated accordingly, with the original figure included as supplementary material for comparison.
