The Feather Atlas is an online tool that lets users identify bird feathers by filtering criteria such as pattern, color, size, and feather position. Users can select attributes like barred or spotted patterns, specific colors, length categories, and whether the feather is a primary, secondary, or tail feather to narrow down matches. The tool also allows searching across all feather types if the position is unknown.
A developer released Reactor Atlas, a Show HN project that visualizes installed nuclear power capacity worldwide, letting users select a year and view net electrical output in megawatts for operating reactors. The interface supports both Spanish and English and currently shows a 2026 view where no reactors are yet marked as operating.
Sky Map 2000, a browser-based star atlas and planetarium tool, calculates visible celestial objects based on a user's geographic coordinates, using either an integrated city catalogue, manual latitude/longitude entry, or device geolocation.
