The minimal Emacs starter-kit Bedrock has reached version 2.0, dropping support for the older Emacs 29 branch and requiring Emacs 31, released in August 2026. The update auto-installs any use-package declarations, swaps which-key for embark-auto-prefix-help-mode when embark is present, removes wgrep in favor of a built-in alternative, and adds lexical-binding declarations across its files.
OpenAI rolled out its new GPT-6 Astra model first to enterprise customers with access to its Daybreak cybersecurity platform, delaying access for Plus and Pro subscribers who expected earlier availability. Anthropic published a terminology guide clarifying that an 'agent system' is not the same as a 'model.' It breaks the stack into three parts: the model (like Sonnet or Opus), the inference service that runs it (like AWS Bedrock or Anthropic's API), and the harness, the interface layer such as Claude Desktop or Claude CLI that manages tools and context.
