Marvel Studios' rerelease of Avengers: Endgame, dubbed Encore and featuring about four minutes of new footage teasing Avengers: Doomsday, has pushed the film's worldwide total to $2.9255 billion, edging past Avatar's $2.9237 billion. The Encore opening weekend grossed $86 million globally, the second-biggest rerelease opening ever, before dropping sharply to $18.8 million in its second weekend.
A theatrical re-release of Avengers: Endgame has pushed it past Avatar to become the highest-grossing film of all time, generating over $126 million worldwide in its latest run. Disney says the Marvel Cinematic Universe's 38 films have now earned more than $35 billion combined, and that Disney titles occupy seven of the top 10 highest-grossing films ever. Separately, Coyote vs. Acme topped Apple TV's rental charts in the US and Canada after its Tuesday streaming release, holding a 96% Rotten Tomatoes critics' score.
