UK startup CloudNC has closed a $20 million Series B extension, pushing its total funding to $128 million, four years after its last major raise. The company's flagship product, CAM Assist, integrates with existing CAM systems like Autodesk Fusion and Mastercam to help machinists automatically select tools, cutting paths, and speeds for CNC machining tasks.
Makera showcased its new Z1 desktop CNC machine at IFA 2026, positioning it as a beginner-friendly subtractive manufacturing tool that carves solid blocks of material like wood, metal, and plastic into finished objects. Alongside the hardware, the company introduced Makera Studio and Makerables, software and community platforms meant to let people without CAD or machining experience design and produce physical items. The Z1 features a compact one-piece cast frame and can work with over 500 materials at precision up to ±0.02mm.
