CardPointers 8 adds Siri AI and automatic credit card offer syncing

CardPointers has released version 8, adding Siri AI integration with 36 new App Intents, Visual Intelligence for identifying which card to use at checkout, and automatic nightly syncing of offers across Amex, Chase, Citi, Bank of America, US Bank, and Wells Fargo accounts. The update also introduces eight extra-large widgets, a savings-tracking dashboard, AI-generated custom offers, and a new Mac menu bar app.

Harvard study finds credit card rewards shift $9.2B a year to wealthy shoppers

A Harvard Business School analysis led by Professor Mark Egan finds that interchange fees baked into retail prices generate about $9.2 billion annually in net rewards for affluent credit card users, while cash and debit customers pay the same higher prices but receive little or none of that money back. Across the broader economy, the researchers estimate roughly $30 billion moves each year from cash and debit users to credit card users at the same stores.
