DJI's new Osmo 360 II 360-degree camera keeps the 1/1.1-inch square sensor from its predecessor but upgrades the processor, now supporting 8K video at up to 60fps and 4K at 120fps. The company also says dynamic range has increased to 14.5 stops and added a SuperNight 2.0 noise-reduction mode with an 'Anti-motion Blur' setting for low-light shooting, alongside improved repairability over the original model.
DJI has introduced SDR Transmission II, a wireless video system for professional productions that transmits 4K 60 fps HDR footage at 50Mbps over distances up to 2.5 miles, doubling the bitrate and extending range compared to its predecessor. The system allows one transmitter to link with up to eight receivers, and larger setups can scale to five transmitters and 40 receivers for complex multi-camera shoots.
Insta360 has released the Luna Pro, a pared-down version of its Luna Ultra steadycam that removes the telephoto lens but keeps the same 1-inch 8K sensor. The standout feature is the ability to record 4K vertical video at 30fps, something the pricier Ultra model currently lacks. Nepal's army is using four China-donated DJI FlyCart 100 drones to make 10 to 16 daily aid runs following the August 26 glacier collapse that triggered flash floods along the Nepal-Tibet border. The new models use an upgraded drone-derived perception system for millimeter-level obstacle detection, a LiDAR-guided mopping arm, up to 36,000 Pa suction, and leg mechanisms that step over ledges up to 8.5cm tall.
