Anthropic engineering manager Felix Rieseberg says he removed traditional coding-puzzle interviews from his hiring process this month, arguing Claude now solves such problems as well or better than most human candidates. Separately, Anthropic's performance team lead Tristan Hume said he had to repeatedly redesign a take-home test after Claude Opus 4 and then Opus 4.5 matched or beat strong applicants, eventually switching to unusual puzzle-game-style problems.
