Weird Gloop routes new Overwatch and Fortnite wikis around Google's indexing penalty

Weird Gloop migrated the Overwatch and Fortnite wikis off Fandom, but instead of giving them their own root domains as it did with other wikis like RuneScape and Minecraft, it launched them as subdomains of weirdgloop.org. The move is a workaround for a Google Search behavior since March 2024 where brand-new domains only get their homepage indexed, effectively hiding every other page from search results for months.

Epic Games launches cross-platform voice chat feature called Epic Parties

Epic Games introduced Epic Parties, a voice chat system that works across Fortnite, the Epic Games Store, and the Epic Games app, regardless of the hardware players use. Users can start a call in one app and carry it seamlessly into another, and the chat can keep running in the background while playing other titles or using mobile devices. Accepting an Epic Party invite also automatically groups friends into the same Fortnite lobby.
