A maker has released the PSPi 6, a custom circuit board that replaces a PSP 1000's original mainboard with a Raspberry Pi Zero, Zero 2W, or CM4. The project includes an 800x480 display, power management, original PSP controls, and audio support, with hardware designs and firmware released as open-source files under a Creative Commons license.
The GamerCard handheld device suffers from inconsistent controls, lacking a dedicated Home button and physical volume controls, which complicates navigation and system management. Its Bluetooth connectivity is unreliable, and loading ROMs for emulation is hindered by the absence of an easy microSD card ejection method. Despite its potential for emulation, these hardware shortcomings limit its practical use.
AYN announced via Discord that it will increase prices across all three configurations of its Odin 3 Android gaming handheld beginning September 1. The base 8GB/128GB model rises from $349 to $369, the 12GB/256GB Pro goes from $449 to $469, and the 16GB/512GB Max climbs from $499 to $529. This marks the third price increase for the device in 2025, following hikes in March and June.
