Meta is expanding Threads' podcast features, letting users share show transcripts, save episodes for later, and view analytics on clicks and saves. Podcast creators can also get reminders to share new episodes, and posts can display video clips, transcripts or tagged guests to promote a show.
The Hayes AT command set, originally built for 300 bit/s modems, expanded as vendors like USRobotics and Microcom added proprietary extensions using different prefix characters. Following the launch of the SupraFAXModem 14400 and subsequent market consolidation, most vendors re-standardized around Hayes's extended command set, which remains the basis for how the vast majority of dial-up modems are controlled today.
Threads platform head Connor Hayes announced the app is experimenting with new podcast-oriented features, including a tool that automatically generates text transcriptions for audio clips shared in the feed. This would let users follow along with podcast content even when scrolling silently or without sound on. Hayes noted more podcast-sharing tools are in development, though none are confirmed for a full rollout.
