Apple Music's lossless audio settings require manual activation, not default
Apple Music offers two lossless streaming tiers: a standard Lossless mode at 24-bit/48kHz CD quality, and a Hi-Res Lossless mode at 24-bit/192kHz for dedicated hi-fi equipment. Neither is enabled by default since they consume significantly more data, so users must manually turn them on through device settings on iOS, Android, Windows, or other supported platforms.
