Apple plans to release its smart home hub, internally codenamed J490, on October 13, according to Bloomberg. The device reportedly has a 6-inch display with a design echoing the iMac G4, and will arrive alongside an updated HomePod mini in new colors and a new Apple TV 4K featuring Siri AI support.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports Apple will reveal its long-rumored smart home hub alongside a new HomePod mini and an upgraded Apple TV on October 13th. The hub reportedly has a 6-inch tiltable display on a round metal base, resembling the iMac G4, with a separate wall-mounted version, USB-C power, and a gray aluminum finish. All three devices are expected to highlight Apple's revamped Siri AI assistant.
Reports point to three long-anticipated Apple products launching in October: a redesigned MacBook Pro or Ultra with a touchscreen, OLED display and Dynamic Island; a new Apple TV 4K with an A19 or A19 Pro chip and Siri AI features; and a smart display device known as 'HomePad' with a camera and its own operating system blending iOS, tvOS and watchOS elements. The MacBook Pro would mark Apple's first major redesign in five years, while the Apple TV would be its first refresh since 2022.
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple is preparing to unveil a new AI-powered home hub device—nicknamed 'HomePad'—as soon as next month. The gadget will run a custom operating system blending elements of iOS, tvOS and watchOS, built around Siri, and will come in tabletop or wall-mounted versions with a square touchscreen.
Apple confirmed its annual iPhone launch will stream live on September 9 at 1 p.m. ET under the theme 'Surprise and shine.' Rumored announcements include the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, a first-ever foldable iPhone Ultra, updated Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, new AirPods 5, and refreshed home devices like Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini.
Apple is preparing a wave of over ten new products, including its first foldable iPhone, dubbed iPhone Ultra, a long-rumored smart home hub called HomePad, and a refreshed Apple TV 4K. The HomePad, first detailed by Mark Gurman in late 2024, was delayed by Siri AI setbacks but now appears close to release alongside other Home products.
