Study details biochemical method revealing how spliceosomes disassemble after splicing

Researchers used nematode (C. elegans) extract containing a FLAG-tagged PRP19 protein to study how the intron lariat spliceosome (ILS) complex breaks apart once its job is done. By comparing protein pulldowns with and without ATP, they identified which factors are released from the spliceosome specifically when ATP is present, pointing to an ATP-dependent disassembly step. Mass spectrometry and statistical analysis were used to pinpoint proteins significantly depleted under ATP treatment.

GoPro's Mission 1 Pro ILS Requires Manual Lenses, Reviewer Finds Focusing Difficult

GoPro's new Mission 1 Pro action camera features an interchangeable lens system (ILS) but lacks electrical contacts, meaning only fully manual lenses with mechanical aperture rings work with it. A reviewer testing the camera with a Laowa 7.5mm lens found that manual focusing is challenging due to the camera's small screen, even with focus peaking enabled. The camera is sold body-only, with no lens bundles currently available from GoPro or retailers.

Markiplier acquires 8.5% stake, becomes GoPro's largest shareholder

YouTuber Mark 'Markiplier' Fischbach has purchased an 8.5 percent stake in GoPro, making him the camera maker's biggest shareholder, according to Bloomberg. He told the outlet he views GoPro as undervalued and frames the investment as supporting his broader goal of making filmmaking more accessible, following his debut feature film Iron Lung.

GoPro launches Mission 1 Pro ILS with interchangeable lens support

GoPro's new Mission 1 Pro ILS shares the same 8K/60 video, 1-inch sensor, open-gate recording and 960fps burst mode as the standard Mission 1 Pro, but swaps the fixed lens for a mount compatible with over 300 Micro Four Thirds lenses. The camera keeps the same battery and rear display, though attaching a lens adds bulk and weight depending on which optic is used.
