Slate has replaced its original dual-battery lineup—a 52.7kWh NMC pack from SK On and an optional 84.3kWh version—with one 205-mile LFP battery made by Gotion in Manteno, Illinois. The change keeps the truck's starting price at $24,950 plus a $1,450 destination fee, though the 205-mile range is still a projected estimate pending final EPA certification.
Pebble is updating its all-electric Flow trailer for the 2027 model year with a larger solar charging option. The trailer's 45 kWh LFP battery can now be paired with up to 4 kW of solar panels, combining a roof-mounted panel with four additional portable panels, up from the earlier 1.1 kWh roof-only setup.
Renault's budget brand Dacia is relocating manufacturing of its Spring EV from China to a plant in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, allowing the car to qualify for French EV incentives. The base model costs €17,900 but drops to about €12,200 after credits, making it one of Europe's cheapest electric vehicles. The redesigned Spring is larger, more muscular-looking, and offers modest specs including 155 miles of WLTP range and 80 horsepower.
EcoFlow has launched the River 260 Gen4 and River 520 Gen4 portable power stations, offering 256Wh and 512Wh of capacity respectively in notably smaller, lighter bodies than prior models. Both use safer LFP battery chemistry and include multiple USB ports, with the 520 model adding a second AC outlet for up to 500W of continuous output.
Bluetti has introduced the Pioneer 5000, a portable power station built around a 5.12kWh LFP battery that it markets as an 'e-generator' rather than a solar generator. The unit can deliver up to 18kW of surge power for heavy equipment, is rated IP65 for dust and water resistance, operates in temperatures from -20°C to 55°C, and can be expanded to 35kWh capacity. It charges via combined AC and solar input at up to 6.2kW, though pricing and availability have not yet been announced.
