Airbnb's fall product update adds an AI search toggle letting users search listings by text or voice, with dynamic filters and AI-generated property summaries and comparisons. The update also expands in-app services like meal delivery, laundry, baby gear, grocery delivery, and ski/boat rentals in select locations, alongside new social features encouraging bookings for experiences like food tastings and workshops.
WIRED's multi-year review of Factor, HelloFresh's ready-to-heat meal delivery brand, found the food has notably improved since the 2020 acquisition, moving beyond simple protein-and-veggie trays to include flatbread pizzas, smoothies and juices. Meals cost roughly $13-17 per serving plus shipping, with plans ranging from four to 24 meals weekly and over 100 menu options including keto, high-protein and plant-based filters.
A TechCrunch reviewer spent two weeks using Tovala's connected oven and pre-portioned meal deliveries to see if the system could rival the ease of ordering takeout. The oven, priced at $299 or $349 for the Pro model with steam capability, automatically adjusts cooking modes when users scan a QR code tied to each meal. Results were mixed: some dishes impressed while others fell short of a traditional home-cooked meal.
