EPFL researchers map lipid distribution across the mouse brain using MALDI-MSI

Scientists at EPFL used mass spectrometry imaging (MALDI-MSI) alongside liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry and single-nucleus RNA sequencing to catalog lipid molecules across coronal brain sections from adult mice. The study included comparisons between male and female mice, as well as pregnant females, sampling six specific brain regions to examine how lipid composition varies by sex and physiological state.

Stanford scientists graft human brain organoids into mouse cortex

A Stanford research team removed a large section of a mouse's brain and replaced it with tissue grown from human stem cells known as brain organoids. The goal was to give these lab-grown clusters of neurons a living, connected environment closer to an actual brain than a petri dish can offer.

Nature issues author correction for mouse brain atlas paper

The authors of the mouse brain stereotaxic atlas study published a correction fixing several errors: a mislabeled gene name in a figure (corrected to 'Emx1-Cre'), an inaccurate Dice score and sample size in Extended Data Fig. 4, and an updated voxel resolution value in the methods section describing whole-head dataset acquisition. The HTML and PDF versions of the paper have been updated accordingly, with the original figure included as supplementary material for comparison.
