Philips Hue has published a support page confirming a new wall light module that lets its app control Nanoleaf Hexagon, Triangle, and Mini Triangle panels. The panels will function similarly to a Hue gradient striplight, syncing to colors chosen from the Hue app's color wheel as part of a broader smart lighting setup.
Leaked images and reporting from Smartlights.de suggest Philips Hue is developing a wall light adapter that lets users control Nanoleaf's Shapes panels—including Hexagons, Triangles, and Mini Triangles—directly through the Hue app, supporting up to 100 connected panels per adapter. The module is said to launch in early September for around €40, though it remains unclear whether Nanoleaf's signature lighting effects and animations will carry over into the Hue ecosystem.
Retailer Very has published an early listing for an unannounced Philips Hue Play Sync Box Lite, a stripped-down version of Hue's HDMI light-syncing device. The Lite model offers just one HDMI input versus four on the current 8K model, caps out at 4K/60Hz, and drops IR remote support, but costs £109.99 versus £299.99 for the full version.
Philips co-founded ASML in 1984 and was TSMC's largest shareholder through the late 1990s with roughly a quarter of each company. It also owned NXP outright as its internal chip division before selling it to a private-equity consortium in 2006. By the late 2000s Philips had exited its ASML and TSMC stakes entirely.
