Rivian adds Ghostbusters-themed Halloween Mode to R1 and R2 EVs until Nov. 2

Rivian has released a Ghostbusters-themed over-the-air update for its R1S, R1T and R2 electric vehicles, developed with Sony Pictures. The update, active through November 2, adds custom exterior lights, sounds, dashboard graphics, voice-assistant tie-ins, and a parked-car arcade game themed around the Ecto-1 car and other Ghostbusters elements like the Proton Pack and Slimer.

Rivian to launch point-to-point Autonomy+ driving system on R2 and R1 models

Rivian is rolling out Autonomy+, a semiautonomous system that lets drivers enter a destination and let the SUV navigate suburban streets, traffic lights, crosswalks and stop signs on its own across the US and Canada. The feature will debut on the upcoming R2 SUV by year's end and reach existing R1S and R1T owners via over-the-air software updates, priced at $49.99 monthly or $2,500 upfront.
