Micron has laid out its memory and storage roadmap through 2027, centered on a new 1-Delta DRAM manufacturing node offering roughly 25% higher bit density than its current 1-Gamma process. The company says 1-Delta will support DDR6, with more than double DDR5's bandwidth, and LPDDR6, claimed to be 35% more power-efficient than LPDDR5, alongside plans for 1TB RDIMMs and NAND exceeding 400 layers. Micron says volume production of 1-Delta is expected in the second half of 2027, with no official DDR6 launch date set yet.

CXMT president Cao Kanyu said the Chinese memory maker plans to ship its first 4F²-based product, a server DDR5 RDIMM, before year-end, though speeds and capacities remain unannounced. The chip uses a denser vertical-transistor cell layout, called Vertical Surrounded Gate, that shrinks cell area roughly one-third versus current 6F² designs, and CXMT says it holds over 300 patent families related to the technology.

YouTube channel NorthWestRepair published a video showing technician Tony attempting to repair two physically damaged DDR5 ECC RDIMM server memory modules, a 128GB and a 256GB stick, together said to be worth $16,000. Using a reflow technique with flux and hot air, he got the first module working again, while the second showed no signs of life and appeared to have a faulty PMIC chip.

Micron has launched its first 512GB DDR5-9200 memory module aimed at high-density servers, allowing systems to reach up to 12TB of total memory. The module uses vertically stacked DRAM dies connected via through-silicon vias, and is currently being validated by AMD and Intel for their upcoming server platforms.

A Reddit user posting as VastOption8705 shared photos of 33 DDR4-2666 RAM sticks, mostly 64GB Samsung ECC registered DIMMs, discovered stashed in their garage. The stockpile came from an old workplace server the person was permitted to keep, likely saving the company disposal costs. At roughly $350-$425 per stick on the used market, the haul could be worth close to $12,000.
