Renoa

1 GoKawiil brief on this topic

Everbloom's renoa becomes first new fiber classification approved by FTC in 25 years

Startup Everbloom has developed a cashmere-like fiber called renoa made from waste protein, including cashmere and wool scraps and down/feather lint from the bedding industry, blended with a biodegradable biopolymer. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission has approved renoa as a new fiber classification, the first such approval in 25 years, and Everbloom says the material is washable and intended to be more affordable than natural cashmere. The company, founded three years ago and based in New York, has produced sample items like gloves and scarves and is now working to scale up production.
