Nvidia released an updated DLSS 5 neural rendering model that shrinks the number of parameters by 24%, halving execution time and cutting VRAM usage by 20% while claiming similar image quality. Testing in NBA 2K27, the only game currently shipping with DLSS 5, showed the RTX 5080 jumping from 53 FPS to 78 FPS at 4K with the feature enabled, a 47% gain, though frame rates remain well below running without DLSS 5 at all.

Chinese tech giants ByteDance, Alibaba and Tencent have reportedly placed orders worth over $35 billion for more than 3 million Nvidia RTX Pro 5500 workstation GPUs, according to Reuters sources. The RTX Pro 5500 is export-compliant under current U.S. restrictions, but the order volume reportedly exceeds Nvidia's entire planned 2027 global production, prompting Nvidia to tell customers it can't fulfill the full demand.

GitHub user Panchovix has published a tool that lets Nvidia RTX 30-, 40-, and 50-series GPU owners modify VBIOS settings without physically flashing the firmware chip. Instead, the configurator stores a modified VBIOS image in the GPU's register key, which the Nvidia driver loads on startup, and it works on both Windows and Linux.

Oderço Distribuidora, a Brazilian hardware importer, says two pallets of Zotac GeForce RTX 5090 cards worth roughly R$2.5 million ($470,000) disappeared at São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport. Company president Oderço Matos says no video footage exists of the pallets being moved and that authorities have offered no explanation. Brazilian police and customs officials have not yet issued a statement on the case.
