X has rolled out a new feature letting U.S. users trade stocks, ETFs, and cryptocurrencies directly from ticker mentions on their timelines. Tapping a Cashtag now shows a live price chart and related posts, with a 'Trade' button that routes users to partnered brokerages like Interactive Brokers, Moomoo, Gemini, Kraken, and Coinbase to complete transactions.
X announced that as of September 2, 2026, all U.S. creator payouts—including Original Content Rewards and subscription earnings—will be processed through its own X Money platform rather than Stripe. The new system sends funds instantly rather than on the previous biweekly schedule with a $30 minimum payout. The company's messaging suggests creators no longer have an alternative payment option, effectively mandating the switch.
X users have reported receiving unsolicited password reset emails following the rollout of the platform's new X Money payment service. X engineer Mridul Singhai confirmed the company is investigating the surge of reset requests, stating no evidence of actual account breaches has been found so far.
