LG expands its line of xboom earbuds with two new models

LG just announced two new earbuds in its xboom line of audio products, following the launch of the xboom Buds in January. The xboom Buds Plus and Buds Lite (which seems like a relatively confusing name to beer drinkers) both hit store shelves sometime this month. The Buds Plus earbuds are filled with high-tech bells and whistles. These premium headphones boast adaptive EQ that continuously adjusts the sound profile in real time. This should ensure "optimal audio quality regardless of how the ea

New Phoenix attack bypasses Rowhammer defenses in DDR5 memory

Academic researchers have devised a new variant of Rowhammer attacks that bypass the latest protection mechanisms on DDR5 memory chips from SK Hynix. A Rowhammer attack works by repeatedly accessing specific rows of memory cells at high-speed read/write operations to cause enough electrical interference to alter the value of the nearby bits from one to zero and vice-versa (bit flipping). An attacker could potentialluy corrupt data, increase their privileges on the system, execute malicious cod

OpenAI upgrades Codex with a new version of GPT-5

OpenAI announced Monday that it’s releasing a new version of GPT-5 to its AI coding agent, Codex. Did Google fix the Pixel 9’s lifeless photo colors on the Pixel 10? I’m shocked.

Rita El Khoury / Android Authority What Google did to photo colors on its last few Pixel phones is criminal. There is no other way to say this, but the degradation in color quality and science was so palpable since the Pixel 6, culminating in the washed-out photos of the Pixel 9 Pro. Even me, a staunch Pixel camera fan, had somewhat given up on getting good, lively photos from my phone last year. Every time I snapped a picture, especially in a colorful environment or a warm indoor, the result c

ExpressVPN review: One of the fastest VPNs we've tested

June Wan/ZDNET ZDNET's key takeaways ExpressVPN The servers are optimized for global geo-restrictions and fast bandwidth connections without giving up safety. Unlike the Galaxy S25 Ultra or the Galaxy Z Fold 7, the 200MP sensor will be used for the OPPO Find X9 Pro’s telephoto camera. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that demand for the new iPhone 17 lineup is strong, with initial orders beating out those for last year’s iPhone 16. Folks, we have the best π

In the past couple of months, I published a number of articles on recreational math. I did my best to keep them accessible and fun, but my goal was usually to shed light at deeper mathematical truths. For example, the discussion of 0.999… = 1 served as a springboard to highlight some of the subtler properties of real numbers and the different meanings of infinity. Today, I have no agenda. This article exists because I discovered a somewhat obscure paper that says something unexpected and cool.
